All of our chamfered edge coping stones are manufactured by us using our own proven precast concrete mix, developed to produce a strong, consistent and long-lasting product. The mix is designed to give high strength and low permeability, helping to reduce water ingress and protect the wall beneath over time.
We use a blend of granite aggregate, silica sand and high-strength 52.5N cement, combined with carefully selected admixtures to improve workability, durability and overall performance. Where colour is required, pigments are added through the mix rather than applied to the surface, meaning the colour runs right through the product.
The chamfered edge profile provides a clean, sharp finish without being over decorative, making it a solid choice for both modern builds and more traditional brickwork. It’s a practical detail that finishes a wall properly while still keeping things simple.
Our standard finish is a smooth matt finish, often referred to as wet cast. The top surface and visible edges are smooth and consistent, giving a clean, uniform appearance across each unit.
The underside has a slightly rougher texture, which is created during manufacture and helps provide a better key when bedding the coping stones onto mortar.
This finish is left as-cast, with no additional surface treatment.
Our resin finish is a clear two-coat polyurethane system applied after manufacture. This enhances the colour of the concrete, giving a darker, richer tone with a slight sheen, similar to a wet look.
As well as improving appearance, the resin also provides an additional layer of surface protection. Due to drying times between coats, lead times are longer compared to standard finish products.
In most conditions, the resin finish can last several years before reapplication may be required, depending on exposure and general weathering.
The acid etched or sandblasted finish removes the smooth outer surface of the concrete to expose the aggregate beneath. This creates a more textured, natural-looking finish, often chosen where a more traditional or stone-like appearance is preferred.
Because the surface is more open, this finish will weather more over time and may be more susceptible to natural growth such as moss or lichen.
Small air holes and surface variation may be visible with this finish, which forms part of its overall character and is not considered a defect.
All of our coping stones are manufactured with drip grooves to the underside. These are typically set in from the edge and help prevent water tracking back onto the wall below, improving long-term protection.
All units are made to order, ensuring consistent sizing, clean edges and a reliable finish across each batch. We take care to maintain consistency in our mixes, although slight colour variation can occur due to natural changes in raw materials such as cement and fly ash.
If you are placing multiple orders over a period of time, we recommend letting us know so we can do our best to keep colour as consistent as possible.
As all products are made to order, lead times can vary throughout the year. For up-to-date lead times, please contact the office before placing your order.
It is important to check all sizes, colours and finishes before ordering, as these products are non-returnable once manufactured.
Delivery is automatically calculated at checkout. If your order is under one tonne and includes mixed products or sizes, this may affect the delivery cost. For an accurate quote, we recommend contacting us directly.
