Standard four weathered apex pier caps have a pyramid-style profile that sheds water on all four sides, making them the most practical choice for fully exposed piers. We manufacture ten sizes, sized to standard brick pier dimensions from 1×1 brick (280×280mm) up to 3.5×3.5 brick (830×830mm), all in precast concrete made to order.
The apex profile rises to a central point and falls away on all four faces, actively shedding water on every side. This is the correct specification for freestanding piers, gate piers, and entrance pillars that are fully exposed to weather. It outperforms flat caps in durability terms because there is no flat surface for water to pond and penetrate the joint between cap and pier.
Products are sized to standard brick pier plans. The range covers: 1×1 brick (280×280mm), 1.5×1 brick (400×290mm), 1.5×1.5 imperial brick (420×420mm), 2×1 brick (520×300mm), 2×1.5 brick (520×420mm), 2×2 brick (520×520mm), plus metric sizes at 295×295mm, 380×380mm, 610×610mm, and 830×830mm. Height is 100–50mm for all except the 830×830mm which is 75–50mm.
All sizes are made to order with a 2–3 week lead time. Bespoke sizes for non-standard pier plans can be manufactured on request — contact us with your pier dimensions. The standard overhang from pier face to cap edge is typically 30–40mm and we can advise on the correct cap dimension for your build.
