Chamfered edge coping stones have an angled front and rear face — the top surface is flat but the leading edges are cut at a chamfer rather than a square right angle, giving a defined edge detail and a contemporary finish. We manufacture five sizes at 600mm length: widths of 170mm, 280mm, 320mm, 400mm, and 500mm, all in precast concrete, made to order.
The chamfered edge profile suits modern wall construction where a sharper, more architectural finish is wanted over a traditional weathered profile. The chamfer angle sheds water off the leading edge while keeping the top surface level, combining some of the drainage benefit of a weathered profile with the clean horizontal line of a flat cap. Suited to rendered block walls, contemporary garden walls, and new-build boundary treatments.
Five sizes at 600mm length: 170mm wide (65mm height), 280mm wide (65mm height), 320mm wide (65mm height), 400mm wide (50mm height — the only size in this profile at 50mm), and 500mm wide (65mm height). All are made to order; the standard lead time is 2–3 weeks. Bespoke widths or profiles can be quoted on request.
Chamfered edge sits between a flat coping and a weathered coping in terms of water management. It provides a more defined visual edge than a plain flat cap and a tidier appearance than a full once-weathered slope. If you are specifying for a wall where drainage performance is critical, once or twice weathered remains the recommended profile — chamfered edge is primarily a finish choice.
Trade accounts are available. For projects requiring multiple widths — for example a combination of 320mm run copings and 500mm pier copings — contact us on 01664 454 572 to discuss batch ordering and ensure colour consistency across the delivery.
