Do your coping stones come with drip channels?

All Coping Stones UK products come with drip channels as standard. Drip channels run along the underside of the coping stone and prevent rainwater from running back onto the wall face, protecting mortar joints and reducing staining.

Do I need planning permission to use coping stones?

Accepted Answer

In most cases no. Coping stones are a maintenance and finish product for existing walls. However, if you are building a new boundary wall or making changes to a listed property or conservation area, you may need to check with your local planning authority.

How are coping stones fixed to a wall?

Accepted Answer

Coping stones are typically bedded on a 3:1 building sand and cement mortar mix (approximately 10mm thick), falls are generally cast into the coping stone, however for flat coping stones consider a slight outward fall (3–5mm across the width) to direct water away from the wall. Ensure the wall is level before laying. Joints between stones are pointed with the same mortar mix for a seamless look.
Where additional adhesion is required a SBR maybe applied to the back of the stone prior to laying. Gables and seafronts may require mechanical fixings.

What is the difference between concrete and natural stone coping stones?

Accepted Answer

Concrete coping stones are cast from a sand/cement mix, are highly consistent in size and colour, and are the most cost-effective option. Natural stone coping stones are cut from quarried limestone or sandstone — each piece is unique, with natural colour variation. Natural stone is generally considered more premium in appearance but requires more care to maintain.

Do you offer trade or quantity discounts?

Yes — we work regularly with builders, landscapers, and developers. Contact us directly with your project requirements and we will provide a trade price. Volume discounts apply from 5 pallets upward.

What is your returns policy?

Accepted Answer

We accept returns of unused, undamaged goods within 14 days of delivery. Returns are made at the customer&#8217;s cost unless the goods are faulty or were sent in error. Please contact us before returning any items so we can arrange collection. Custom or cut-to-size orders cannot be returned.

Can I order a sample before buying?

Yes — we offer sample packs so you can check the colour and finish before committing to a full order. Samples are available in our Colour Samples category. The cost of the sample is deducted from your order if you proceed.

How is delivery priced?

Accepted Answer

Delivery is charged by pallet. The cost depends on your postcode, weight and the number of pallets required. The exact delivery charge is calculated and displayed at checkout before you pay. Highlands, islands, and some remote postcodes may attract a surcharge.

What are your delivery times?

Standard pallet deliveries are typically made within 3–5 working days of your order being placed. During busy periods this can extend to 7 working days. You will receive a delivery notification with a tracking link once your order is dispatched.

How do I calculate how many coping stones I need?

Accepted Answer

Measure the total linear length of your wall in metres and divide by the length of the coping stone you are ordering. Always add 5% for cuts and wastage. For example, a 10-metre wall using 600mm stones needs (10 ÷ 0.6) × 1.05 = 18 stones. If you are unsure, use our contact form and we will calculate it for you.
